Smile Esthetics

Natural smile is one of visually most attractive characteristics one may have. Unfortunately many hide it or are ashamed of it. It has been proven that smile affects the quality of life in its social, emotional and professional sense.

Many of us have throughout our lives invested significant means in appearance, esthetic intervention, clothes and similar issues but have neglected the health of teeth and oral tissue. Years without dental checks and unpropriate dental care leave patients with complex problems and affect the appearance of the teeth row.

No matter what condition your teeth are in, we have the knowledge to ensure "a smile from your dreams". New techniques in adhesive dentistry, dental implants, new ceramic materials, orthodontic  treatments, Digital Smile Design, can give excellent results even in most difficult cases.

We are always governed by the principal of esthetic value of your natural smile. Whether we blend in a smaller prosthetic part or rejuvenate the appearance of your teeth or even recreate totally new smile changing its dynamics and character, we will achieve a result which provides harmony between your teeth, gums, lips and facial features.

Ceramic veneers

Ceramic veneers

Ceramic veneers are minimal invasive form of esthetic enhancement of your smile.

Veneers are the first means for a lasting change in the looks of your smile because they are placed directly on the tooth, changing its shape and color. Ceramic veneers can be made with high precision so to compensate only one part of the tooth (like a broken corner) or render an atypical form of a tooth into a typical one. They always look extremely good!

Ceramic veneers can be as thin as 0.3 mm and are bonded on the tooth surface. Some porcelain veneers available today can be placed completely within enamel in a minimally invasive or "no preparation" way.

The drawback lies in the fact that they cannot always be fixed. Most frequent limiting factors are significantly destructed teeth or patients with certain bad habit of teeth grinding or the teeth which already have another prosthetic.

CDEI creates veneers exclusively in dentistry laboratories. We believe that the skill with which in a fraction of a millimeter and by playing with ceramic materials we achieve a redesigned smile is a quality common only among such professionals who have devoted all their professional life to dental techniques and ceramics.

In some cases we make veneers with CAD/CAM technology in a short period of time.  In both cases we use IPS e.max ceramic.

All ceramic restorations

All ceramic restorations

Crowns and bridges with poor optical properties and with corrosive coloring on the gums above teeth, today belong to the past.

Transparency and translucency of all-ceramic restorations allow for demonstration of natural color of teeth substance and allow light to go through ceramics as if through a natural tooth. Thus our prosthetic restoration obtains optical properties similar to a natural tooth.

Materials that are used for that purpose can be divided according to the way they are made and according to their indications.

IPS e.max ceramics or lithium disilicate ceramics represent the first choice in esthetic reconstruction. With its esthetic and physical performances it can perfectly reconstruct the whole of the teeth arch in which veneers can be found one next to the other, a bridge on the teeth and a crown on the implants. This kind of ceramics makes it possible to achieve distinctly light, white restorations to completely transparent ones which unnoticeably blend in with the natural teeth line. From this kind of material it can be produce different type of restorations, ceramic veneers, all-ceramic crowns, all-ceramic bridges, ceramic inleys or ceramic onleys.

Ceramics on the basis of zirconium is still irreplaceable in bridges of a larger span. The most common form of zirconium reconstructions is such that it is necessary to additionally coat them with standard ceramics but there are also an increasing number of zirconium reconstructions with the full contour. Such reconstructions still have limiting esthetic performances but are nevertheless successful in covering all colorings and flaws in natural teeth.

Feldspatic ceramics used to be utilized for covering supportive constructions in metal-ceramics or zirconium crowns, although it can be used for making veneers.

Crowns and bridges can be made in a few ways but pressing and CAD/CAM methods are the most common.

For a proper choice and method of making your constructions we recommend that you should consult your dentist, who will select the appropriate ceramics construction and the type of material for you after a clinical examination, x-ray analysis and study analysis.

Dental implats in esthetic zone

Dental implats in esthetic zone

Example: Implantati u frontu

Restorations in esthetic zone is biggest anxiety in patients facing the fact that they will lose a tooth in that zone. The best replacement for a lost tooth is an implant. As the wish for a perfect, totally naturally integrated crown on teeth grew more pronounced, the need for such crowns on the implants followed. Nowadays the criterion of success requires not only an implant which is integrated in the bone and that it “serves its purpose”.

The implant and the crown on it must appear as if their surrounding is unaware of its presence!

If the patient has a high smile line and exposes all frontal tissue in their mouth, both teeth and the gums, then the dentist faces a daunting esthetic task and for the therapeutic team it poses a major challenge. The realisation of that kind of treatment planning is far more than just placing an implant. Placing the implant, which is a relatively short procedure, is preceded by thorough planning of the future implant positioning by means of CBCT picture, the implant design analysis which is to be used in the particular case, prosthetic connections as well as the manner of temporary rehabilitation and planning of the final restoration on the implant. Once the implant is correctly positioned, starts the phase of soft tissue management so that the end of the process is the crown and the gums which surround it  look like a natural tooth.

Crown lenghtening

Crown lenghtening

Example: Fasete Ivan

Correct proportions regarding the tooth width and length for an ideal smile line are as important as the balance between the visible whiteness of teeth substance and the pink colour of the surrounding soft tissue. Sometimes the harmony can be disrupted resulting in the perception that one or more teeth are short and that the smile is “full of gums”. Microsurgical intervention of crown lengthening can be performed in several ways depending on aesthetic and functional demands. Its goal is to release the visible white tooth part and by means of tooth length and adequate teeth proportion, provide a smile with a necessary and desirable balance.

Composite resin fillings

Composite resin fillings

A beautiful smile has nowadays become an imperative. Composite fillings or, as the patients would call them “white fillings” have become superior in conservative preservations of tooth. The material is fully matched to the tooth colour. It is manufactured in a great number of shadows so that each patient can be provided with the suitable colour which is going to blend in with the existing natural one.

Composite resin fillings are used both for the front and lateral teeth. It is a fallacy that composite filling are not strong enough for the lateral teeth. The connection made by the composite resin and the tooth, together with the composite layers contribute to the further reinforcement of a tooth and prevent its fracturing providing the filling is of proper size.

Of course, sometimes the tooth damage is so big that it cannot be compensated with a filling and in such cases other solutions are to be found such as ceramics inlays, onlays or ceramic crowns.

A healthy and beautiful smile is much more than tooth care. It makes every person more attractive and more confident. It is a widely accepted fact that a smile is the center of attention of all of those looking at you, and we know that dentistry we practice can do a lot for the hiding smile.
